This privacy policy explains how Griffon Webstudios Inc. (“Griffon Webstudios,” “we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit www.griffonwebstudios.com (the “Site”), contact us, apply for a job or work with us. It also explains your rights, including your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, and how to use them.

1. Who we are

Griffon Webstudios Inc. is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. That means we decide why and how it is used.

2. Information we collect

(a) Information you give us

  • Inquiries and quote requests: your name, email address, phone number, website, the service you need, your budget range and your message.
  • Job applications: your name, email address, phone number, portfolio or LinkedIn link, the role you are applying for, your resume and anything you tell us in your note.
  • Client work: business contact details, account access you choose to give us, and the project information we need to deliver our services.
  • Calls, emails and texts: what you share with us when you call, email or text us.

(b) Information collected automatically

  • Always: technical data that any website needs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, used by our hosting and spam protection to deliver the Site securely. We also save your cookie choice.
  • Only with your consent: how you use the Site (analytics), whether you came from or responded to one of our ads (marketing) and, if you use our live chat, a cookie that remembers the conversation (functional). Our cookie policy lists each cookie.

(c) Information from others

If someone refers you to us, we receive the contact details they share. If you contact us through a platform such as Google or LinkedIn, we receive what that platform passes on.

3. How we use your information and our legal bases

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR we need a legal basis for each use of personal information. Here is what we do and the basis we rely on:

  • Answering inquiries and preparing proposals: to take steps you asked for before a contract, and our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us.
  • Delivering our services: including weekly progress updates and monthly reports, to perform our contract with you or your company.
  • Reviewing job applications: to take steps before a possible employment or contractor agreement, and our legitimate interest in hiring.
  • Keeping the Site secure: including spam protection on our forms, based on our legitimate interest in protecting the Site and you.
  • Analytics: to understand which pages help visitors, based on your consent.
  • Advertising measurement: to measure and improve our Google and Meta ads, based on your consent.
  • Marketing emails: only if you opted in, or where the law allows us to email existing clients about similar services. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Text messages: based on your consent, as described in the SMS terms below.
  • Legal duties: keeping business, tax and accounting records, and responding to lawful requests, to comply with the law.

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies to run the Site. Analytics, marketing and functional cookies, and embedded posts from Instagram, only load after you allow them in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time in Cookie settings, linked at the bottom of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we keep optional cookies off. See our cookie policy for the full list.

5. Who we share your information with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who process it for us: Webflow (website hosting and forms), Google Workspace (email and documents), HubSpot (customer records, email and, if enabled, chat and analytics), Google Analytics and Google Ads (with your consent), Meta (ad measurement with your consent), Cloudflare (spam protection on forms) and our text message provider. They may only use it to provide their service to us.
  • Professional advisers: such as accountants and lawyers, when needed.
  • Authorities: when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our clients or the public.
  • A buyer or successor: if our business is merged, acquired or sold, under the same protections.

If you provide your phone number or consent to receive SMS communications, we will not share your phone number or SMS-related consent with third parties. All SMS communications are used solely for the purpose for which you provided your number and consent.

6. International transfers

We are based in the United States, so information you send us is processed there, and some of our providers process data in other countries. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, we protect these transfers with the safeguards the law requires, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension for certified providers, or standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum. Contact us for more detail.

7. How long we keep it

  • Inquiries and client records: up to 3 years after our last contact with you.
  • Job applications: up to 1 year after you apply, unless you join us or ask us to keep your details for future roles.
  • Invoices, tax and accounting records: as long as the law requires.
  • Cookies: for the periods listed in our cookie policy. Your cookie choice is kept for 6 months, then we ask again.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
  • Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Delete your information, unless we must keep it by law.
  • Restrict or object to how we use it, including at any time to direct marketing.
  • Move information you gave us to another company, in a common format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, in Cookie settings, through the unsubscribe link in our emails or by texting STOP. This does not affect what we did before.

To use any of these rights, email contact@griffonwebstudios.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we reply within one month. We answer requests from anyone, wherever they live.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office; in the EU, the authority in your country.

9. Security

We protect your information with reasonable technical and organizational measures, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access limited to the people who need it. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Third-party links

Our Site links to other websites, such as our clients’ sites and social media accounts. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their privacy policies.

11. Children’s privacy

Our Site and services are for businesses and are not meant for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new date, and for significant changes we will add a notice on the Site.
