Backlink audit services that check every link

Our backlink audit services pull every link pointing to your site from Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz and Google Search Console into one list, and a person checks everything the tools flag. You learn which links help, which are spam Google most likely ignores already, and whether anything needs removal or a disavow file.

What it is

What backlink audit services include

A backlink audit is a full review of the links from other websites to yours. No single tool finds every link, so we export from three link tools and Search Console, merge the lists and remove duplicates. Each linking domain is then sorted: relevant and healthy, low value but harmless, or part of a pattern worth acting on, such as a paid link network.

Most audits end with less work than owners expect. Google says it can decide which links to trust and that most sites never need the disavow tool. Spam scores are a starting point, not a verdict, so nothing is removed or disavowed on a score alone. When the evidence points to a manual action, or to a link scheme built in your name, we say so and plan the cleanup.

Signs you need a backlink audit

  • Search Console shows a manual action for unnatural links
  • A past provider bought links or used a link network
  • Rankings fell and old links are a suspect
  • A tool reports hundreds of toxic backlinks
  • You plan link building and want a clean baseline

What’s included

What’s included in our backlink audit services

Every link found, checked and sorted, with a clear answer on what needs doing.

01

Link data from four sources

Exports from Semrush, Ahrefs and Moz plus the links report in Google Search Console, merged and de-duplicated.

02

Toxic link screening

Spam signals, link sources and anchor patterns reviewed by a person, domain by domain, never left to a score.

03

Anchor text and profile review

How your links are worded, which pages they point to and how the mix compares with competitors.

04

Manual action check

The manual actions report in Search Console checked, with a cleanup plan if a penalty for unnatural links is in place.

05

Link removal requests

Polite requests to site owners to take down links that should go, logged with dates and replies.

06

Disavow file when warranted

A clean .txt file with a comment above each group of lines, uploaded in Search Console only when the evidence supports it.

In depth

How a backlink audit decides what matters

Three questions decide whether a link profile needs work, and how much.

Why a spam score is not a verdict

Each tool measures spam its own way, and Semrush, Ahrefs and Moz often disagree about the same domain. A high score can belong to a harmless scraper that copies thousands of pages. So we open the linking page: is it a real site with readers, is the link in context, and does the same link repeat across sites in a pattern? Scrapers and junk directories are noted and left alone, because Google’s systems are built to ignore them.

When a disavow file makes sense

Google’s guidance is narrow: use the disavow tool when there are a considerable number of spammy, artificial or low-quality links to your site and they have caused, or will likely cause, a manual action. That usually means a manual action already showing in Search Console, or links a past provider bought or built in your name. In those cases we ask site owners to remove links first, then disavow what remains at the domain level. In most other cases the right file is no file, and we tell you that.

Recovering from a manual action

A manual action for unnatural links stays until Google reviews a reconsideration request that explains the problem, the steps taken and the result. We prepare that record: links removed, every request sent with its date and reply, and the disavow file for the rest. We write the request in plain language and watch Search Console for the reply. The decision and the timing are Google’s, so we report progress rather than promise a date.

How it works

How our backlink audit services work

From raw link data to a clear decision, with a progress update every week.

  1. Step 01

    Collect

Access to Search Console, then exports from Semrush, Ahrefs and Moz merged into one list.

  2. Step 02

    Screen

Flags sorted by risk, and every flagged domain opened and checked by a person.

  3. Step 03

    Decide

A written report that marks each domain keep, ignore, remove or disavow, with the reason.

  4. Step 04

    Clean up

Removal requests, a disavow file if warranted, and a reconsideration request if Google has acted.

FAQ

Questions about backlink audit services, answered

What do backlink audit services check?

Every link to your site that Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz and Google Search Console can find. We review where each link comes from, how it is worded, where it points and whether it forms a pattern, then mark it keep, ignore, remove or disavow.

Do toxic backlinks hurt my rankings?

Usually not. Google says it can work out which links to trust, and its systems ignore most spam. They become a risk when there are many and they look like a link scheme, which can lead to a manual action. The audit shows which case you are in.

Should I disavow links?

Only when the evidence supports it. Google recommends the disavow tool for sites with a considerable number of spammy or artificial links that have caused, or will likely cause, a manual action. Most sites don’t need it, and an unneeded disavow can switch off links that were helping.

How long does a backlink audit take?

It depends on how many domains link to you, and the proposal gives a date. If a disavow file is needed, Google says it can take a few weeks to take effect after upload, as the linking pages are recrawled.

Can you remove a Google manual action?

We do the cleanup and file the reconsideration request, but only Google can lift a manual action. Every step is documented, and you get updates until Google replies.
